Due to the major system updates the integration scheme of the Department address book as well as personal address book have changed and if one of the address books is unavailable – one should follow the following instructions on how to handle this:
Log in to your Horde mail client
1. From the left menu click Organizing and then, Address Book under it.
2. On the top blue bar click Options button
3. Under Display Options first item should be Address Books, click on it.
4. On the next screen that appears, one should see two selection boxes as on the picture below. The box on the left represents the address book that is available in the system, box on the right – the address book that would be available for a user to use. Select “DEM ADDR book” by clicking on it and click on the hand pointing right. The Department address book should move to the right side list.
Normally the personal address book would be called “My Addressbook” and that is the one that should be selected next.
After both address books are moved to the right box it is important to click “Save Options” button
Now the address books should be ready to use when composing messages or answering the emails.
How to make a little icon appear in order to put emails to address book
In IMP, click on options at the top of the screen or from the left side menu click Options -> Mail.
Under "Other Options" there is a section for Address Books.
The drop down list at the bottom of that screen is labelled:
"Choose the address book to use when adding addresses."
With that drop down you have to choose the address book (My Addressbook) to use when adding addresses.
Once that is done IMP will know where to put new contacts and a little icon should appear next to any unknown contact when you open the email.
